"Making It" - Achieving Success Your Own Way
I recently went for an Extraordinary Lives seminar about finding your own profile and your flow. Roger Hamilton is a great guy, I admire him, he is not like the others, who goes all out to make money in seminars. Roger actually donated all the money collected, more than RM 100K to charity. He is very generous indeed.Being a public speaker myself, I find him very good in what he is doing as a speaker as he managed to get everyone high and motivated. He actually ask us to find our very own flow and focus on that one thing that we are passionate about and make it big and that's how the billionaires did it. Everyone of us are looking at achieving success, we are constantly finding ways of modeling "Successful People". People who are very successful and wealthy, we all want to be like the world's top 10 Billionaires.
1. William Gates III
2. Warren Buffett
3. Carlos Slim HelĂș
4. Ingvar Kamprad
5. Lakshmi Mittal
6. Sheldon Adelson
7. Bernard Arnault
8. Amancio Ortega
9. Li Ka-shing
10. David Thomson
There is nothing wrong in modeling them to achieve big success but it would be almost impossible for most of us to reach. I personally think that finding your passion and you flow are important, but what about the "Millionaires Next Door", the people in the street, people who achieve success and become rich in their own way? Our friendly convenient store owner, the baker who own 5 cake shop or the kinder garden that we send our children to? How did he made it? How did he get started? Don't you think that these are the people that we should model? these are the business that we are interested about? Have you ever wonder how come some people are so gifted? How can he be so successful in MLM or insurance? These are the stories that we are interested about but in our Asian culture, we are taught to be humble and modest especially about success and money. When you ask someone about how well he is doing in his business, you'll usually get a modest reply like so-so lah, ok lah, business very tough lah but you'll see him opening more outlets, shifting into bigger homes and driving bigger cars. One thing we have to learn is that we should share, especially our experiences and our success. I believe that the more we share the more success is going to come back to us. That's the Law of Attraction. Isn't it.
