The network marketing business is built on the foundation of team work. No one can succeed alone without any team mate. Being a team leader you must be able to find achievement and fulfillment in building teams as there are many advantages in building one.
Develop understanding – this is very important as many issue or misunderstandings can be avoided by clarifying to the whole group before anything starts or new distributors joining in. The networking ethics and those matters concerning money, etc must be taught and explained first. Any other misunderstanding must be resolved immediately so as not to develop grudges later on.
Sharing of responsibility – many people do not have the courage to take on responsibility. When problem arises most of them will point their fingers to others. A leader must be able to take full responsibility and by sharing out with the whole team, this makes it easier to gulp. Later as they grow they will be able to take on the whole load of it.
Shared commitment – being committed is another thing that people are afraid to commit because being able to commit means you’ll have to make sacrifices and many are not willing to do so. By committing to work together means everyone will have to make sacrifices. If you have to work on weekends, all will have put in their effort during the weekends and people are normally happier that way.
Promote collective effort – whatever that you set out to do is going to be a project and it cannot be accomplished alone and you’ll need a team of people. When you succeed, you succeed as a team. The recognition should go to them as well and make sure you as a leader remember to edify the whole team.
You should always praise them or individually for their excellence in getting it done or for improving. Do not be stingy; give praises generously as they will perform better. Never try to find mistake and correct on them, this will make them feel inferior. Always give suggestions and not command. Remember that you are a network leader not a manager.
“When you’re part of a team, you stand up for your teammates. Your loyalty is to them. You protect them through good and bad, because they’d do the same for you” - Yogi Berra
