Many successful entrepreneurs are often known for their visionary ideas which are firmly based on a simple set of commitments, usually grounded in beliefs as a “
“…the basic philosophy, spirit, and drive of an organization have far more to do with its relative achievements than do technological or economic resources, organizational structure, innovation, and timing. All these things weigh heavily in success. But they are, I think, transcended by how strongly the people in the organization believe in its basic precepts and how faithfully they carry them out.” (Thomas J. Watson, Jr., A Business and its Beliefs - The ideas that helped build IBM)
As true as this is for the recipe for success of a corporation, it is even more so for the individual. Many corporations forget about this basic fundamental that their successes are not based on one person contribution and neglect the recognitions due for the others. They tend to focus only on the profits alone and as such led to a downfall.
The most important single factor in networking success is commitment. Commitment ignites action. To commit is to pledge to a certain purpose or conduct. It also means practicing your beliefs consistently. You must first have a set of beliefs that is in accordance with the company that you are representing and your behavior must comply with your belief. Commitment simply means doing what you say and saying what you mean.
Being committed to achieve success in business is very important but what is even important is that as network leaders, you must be totally committed to helping others to achieve their desired goals. All network leaders must take their commitments and responsibility to the industry, the people in their line of sponsorship, their customers and prospects seriously. They treat commitment as a decision rather than a feeling that changes with time and conditions.
“Unless commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes, but no plans” - Peter Drucker
